🛠 CNC Engraved Brass Tags (Old Unpublished Video)
Переглядів 1,7 тис.Рік тому
These brass tags are part of a larger project (a hope chest) that will be finished by someone else as a gift for two special girls who I will likely never meet. I was asked to create this video so it could be shown when the hope chest is presented to them. I used a diamond drag bit to do the engraving on my CNC and a carbide end mill to cut out the shape. They turn out great. Find me online her...

Making a Finger Jointed Keepsake Box for Chess Pieces
Переглядів 4,5 тис.2 роки тому
I made this finger jointed chess box to hold some really nice House of Staunton Chess Pieces. It is made of ambrosia maple from @livingknotlumber. The chess pieces are a reproduction of the set used in the 1939 Olimpico Tournament. I used my box joint sled to make the joinery. It has a raised panel top made on the router table. My Festool router was used for the slotting. Everything else was do...
Making a Vintage, Aged, & Distressed Neon (LED) Sign with Plywood
Переглядів 23 тис.2 роки тому
I love old vintage signs, especially neon signs. This is my first attempt at creating one. This one is made of plywood. I made it to practice and learn with. Now I am going to re-make this sign with a traditional metal sign box. I used LED lights to simulate neon. I cut channels with the CNC router to secure the LED light strips. The LED’s stand off of the sign face and it really does approxima...

The TRACKTUBES™ TUBEKEEPER™ makes storage, transport, and setup easier. The TUBEKEEPER™ was originally designed to couple a pair of TrackTubes together for easy transport and storage, but it also works great as a positioning stop when using the TrackTubes with sawhorses like the Bora Speedhorse and Centipede. TrackTubes are high quality, anodized aluminum extrusions with integrated T-tracks. Th...

Why do you assemble all the parts of the header before putting it up on the wall rather than putting each piece directly onto the wall one at a time?
It's just good to know my knob won't fall off
Also, can you do this with Hardboard Tempered Panel 1/8 in?
Great information. Thank you.
Dang it, how many vids start by "I'm not an electrician" so don't make electrical videos, leave that to electricians, what are you doing?
Incredible workmanship ! Great buck !
What a stellar delivery very concise I’ll be placing an order today!!!! Jami tooo!!!
As soon as I saw that cnc I checked out😅
I don't know if you've noticed? But the devil's been back you'd be blind not to notice"
One question; can multiple tops connect each other for larger workspace? Do you plan to release connector or larger top?
Seems out of stock now as of 6/25. Do you have any eta when it is back in stock?
Hey Cafe. Thanks for watching. We had a big run on the tops based on a video that was released this week that caused us to sell out. The next production run will be on July 3. Orders place before that will begin shipping on July 8. I have opened them back up for pre-order on the website if you want to get in the queue.
Great video, nice explanation.
As I mentioned in a previous video. I think it would be very helpful to those with small brains to have “packages” or “kits”to purchase the include the track tubes, mft tables, mft rails, etc other than me having to drill down all kinds of pages to try and ensure I don’t miss anything. Which results in me having to order additional parts that I forgot and have to pay shipping again.
I agree with your suggestion. I talked to Fred and he is going to add various packages in the near future. He is also looking at possibly having a new website designed that will make this easier to set up in the back end.
You did a great job explaining how to get er' done. Easy for anyone to understand. Thank you.
What a great alternative to Festool's expensive MFT station. So intrigued by your system, just subscribed. So glad I stumbled across your YT site. Have to study your videos a little more, so I can determine just which set up I want to purchase. Thx again.
That is nice to set your pretties on it!
My door that was installed 4 years ago is sagging, so I guess the hinges don't really handle the weight that well
Nice product. I’ve been watching the evolution of the track tube over the last 3 years. As I recall, Dave Stanton developed the track saw rail adapter for bench dogs. although many are reproducing these days I do think you should be crediting him. I am also interested in the adapter for the nonslip pads for the centipedes base but don’t see them as an accessory on your site. Are they only available as part of the kit?
It's been several years now, so my aged memory may be wrong, but I saw similar clips being used somewhere on social media. At the time, a couple different versions of the clip were available online to download and 3d print. This was around the same time (I think it was before) Dave Stanton started offering them for sale. I actually downloaded and printed them, but re-designed them to work better (I think) ... adding a design that had a slight spring action and a thumb tab. I've been using them in my own shop for years ... since 2018?
Have you tried the 1/4 turn dogs with the 18v. Festool saw, my guess is that the lower battery will bump the dog!?
I've used them and they work fine with 3/8 to 1" material. If using the rail clip with the dog, up to 3/4" material.
It looks to me like the cost of all these parts added to the bora centipede is more than the MFT 3.
Everything you see in the video is much more versatile than the Festool MFT3 and about $140 cheaper than the Festool MFT3 Basic ..
Will this substitute as a real coffin?? Asking for a friend.
Amazing. Just what I needed.
Bora now makes a 36” height version of the centipede. As someone who is 6’2”, even 36” could use an extra inch or two. As such your TrackTube system sounds ideal for me.
Any way track tubes can work with bora centipede mft top
I'd also be interested in this. Your MFT top is certainly well thought out, but I already have two of the Bora 20mm models... I'd like to add t-tracks to it, but not at the cost of replacing every other part.
I've bought the Bora tops for my centipede and didn't like the way it connected or fit. It barely fits over the support legs ... but, if you want to adapt your tops to the TrackTubes, just add three shorter sections of extrusions across the legs, then mount the TrackTubes to them with angle brackets. I use this method with my Rigid Sawhorses. This allows you to adjust the TrackTubes the exact width of the Bora tops and lets you use the side track if you need it. I hope this all makes sense.
@@glennsgarageshopany chance you could share a photo
@@zohebthayer I don't have my Bora tops anymore, but I can set up the extrusion supports I mentioned tomorrow and send you a couple photos.
Extremely innovative. We made our own MFT top while using the Bora 2 by 4 stand. I braced a 1” by 2” with the supplied cups that Bora provides and its very stable. Although we use the UJK rail guide clips and they work well but i am very interested in learning more about your extrusion so I can mount a Festool Hinge. Do you sell tje extrusion separately? And if yes, do you have a video showing more about the extrusion with a mounted Festool hinge? Thank you for the innovation and keep up the great work!!
Thanks for watching. There is a lot of info on the website and content n this channel where you can learn more. Or just send me an email through the website and I'll give you a call.
This is pretty awesome.
Thank you.
Welcome back man
I liked Centipede but hated the track ball.
Awesome stuff, Fred! 😊 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks MC. Will do.
Fred - I've been using my Track Top and Track Tubes. I can't say enough good things about them. They save me so much time and everything breaks down quickly into small pieces that are easy to store in my shop. I'm not sure if a centipede is in my future, but I'll have to look into it.
Thanks for the kind words Greg. I'm glad you are getting use and utility!
Hey Awesome
Thanks Joseph.
Miss your old channel Fred! Sure wish you’d start producing the DIY content again
Nice to hear from you again, SK. I miss it too. Things were a lot simpler back then but now I have to get after it and make a living. :-)
Awesome new products.
Thanks Mudd.
wow that hinge allignment method with epoxy is genius
Great video! I was just trying to figure out how to use the jig, but to be shown how to make my own. Priceless!
I got some what appears to be laminate floor adhered over the original white oak floorboards. I want to get rid of the ratty laminate without damaging the hardwood underneath. Is that possible? Thank you in advance.
The final trim looks really amazing. I've been doing some trim work... but I see I you are at expert level and way beyond what i can do.
Bro sounds like the Actor for Ghost Rider😂
Where can i get the plans old boy?
Good, thoughtful presentation. Keep itup
great videos,thanks
I've seen several video like this becasue I'm considering enclosing out distressed Cedar mantle -- but yours IS THE BEST -- by far. Very clear narration and details.
I can build this in 7 days, 4 man crew.
Hi there, are these compatible with the bora mft tops with dog holes?
What’s easiest way to remove old carpet layed 25 yrs ago
Now I’m all new to this. But when using a manabloc. Is it better to use for a tankless water heater? Or a tank water heater? Or I’m sure it might not matter…
Amazing job sir
The glass is difficult to slide up because you have to stick your fingers in the slot to press the tabs in. So I slipped some zipties in behind the tab and it makes it so much easier to open. Hope this helps.
Quick question. Did you use Pex A or Pex B with that maniblock? I have to plum my mother‘s entire house because a Plumber took advantage of my elderly lady when she called his company to fix a cracked polybutylene pipe. He charged her to plum almost the entire house, and made things go from bad to worse. Not only did he leave all the polybutylene that he was paid to replace, but the little cPVC he did install it Spewed hot Under her washing machine for year due to an improperly installed PVC compression fitting. Now I have to re-plumb the entire house and rebuild her laundry room and master bath. I’ve had to do some repairs and replace her hot water heater, switching out the polybutylene with pex. I’ve tried using both the compression ring and the crimp ring tools to secure the fittings under the house and it’s next to impossible. if anyone has advice, I would love to hear it. I think it would be easiest to do a homerun pex A maniblock system, and run the pipes under her mobile home. if I plum the house that way, I figured I won’t have to deal with trying to navigate the 12 inches of space between the ground and the floor joist trying to install elbows and tees. With only two connection points, one of the manifold and the other at the Fossett I figured that would be the easiest. Does anybody else have a better suggestion and does anyone know if they make a maniblock system for pex a ?
Great job
